On Friday, July 12th, 2013 at 7:59 a.m. Deputies from the Pinal County Sheriff’s office responded to a residence in the 5000 block of South Casa Prieto Drive in Gold Canyon regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that somebody unknown had broken into his vehicle that was parked out front of his residence during the evening.

The victim reported his laptop computer along with his wallet which contained his credit cards and cash were taken from the vehicle.

While investigating this case, it was discovered one of the credit cards which had been stolen was used at a local gas station and a Waffle House earlier that morning. Video surveillance was obtained from the businesses and later deputies along with PCSO detectives were able to determine the suspects were possibly staying at the “Superstition Inn Suites.”

Deputies and detectives made contact at the room they believed the suspects were staying at. At the room, they spoke with Travis Cortez (age 37 of Apache Junction) and Jannelle Camino (age 22 of Saddlebrooke). A third suspect Michael Mylander (age 32 of Apache Junction) was located later in the day by detectives and officers from the Apache Junction Police Department.

Also located in the parking lot of the Superstition Inn Suites was a reported stolen vehicle. The owner of the Buick passenger car had reported it stolen to the Gilbert Police Department.

After interviewing Mylander, Cortez and Camino all three suspects were booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center for various charges. The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are pending.

Michael Mylander was booked for an outstanding Burglary Warrant and is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Travis Cortez was booked for Unlawful means of Transportation, Burglary, Theft, Forgery and Taking the Identify of another Person.
