- The green movement is being addressed in the upcoming comprehensive plan.
- There are two land use alternatives that infuse the Parks and Open Space Plan to address the following concerns: Make eastern Pinal County an eco-tourism spot for the area. That would require lower density development which would keep the rural feel. The higher density would be on the west and keep open space available. It would also plan for commuter or light rail from Tucson to Phoenix. There could also be a rapid transit bus connections between northern Pinal County and Phoenix.
- Another alternative would be a dispersed growth model keeping eastern Pinal County as the eco-tourism spot with a tourism train. It would also expand the rapid transit to include southern Pinal County to Tucson.
