Public Input Sought on Palo Verde Regional Park Draft Master Plan and Preferred Alternative

FLORENCE – The Pinal County Open Space and Trails Department is asking the public to review and provide comment on the Palo Verde Regional Park Draft Master Plan and Preferred Alternative. Comments will be accepted through Friday, November 11, 2016.

The proposed Palo Verde Regional Park is over 20,000 acres of mostly Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land on the west side of Pinal County, stretching from Interstate 8 to the south and Highway 238 to the north.

“We’ve had tremendous public input throughout the planning process, including almost 850 comments related to the four alternatives presented to the public in July,” Kent Taylor, Pinal County Open Space and Trails Director said.

“I am pleased that we have seen so much input from the public regarding Palo Verde Region al Park,” stated Board of Supervisors Vice-Chairman Anthony Smith. “The passion for different plans for the park has made this a good example of local residents taking an interest in what is happening around them. We are continue on working to come up with a plan that is realistic and favored by the residents of this area.”

There is also a questionnaire regarding the proposed Palo Verde Regional Park. All replies must be received by Friday, November 11, 2016.
