The Pinal County Development Board was established in 1954 to act as an advisory board to the Immigration Commissioner, who is the director of the Pinal County Visitors Center, and to promote development of both industry and tourism within Pinal County. In 1956, the Board became responsible for the daily operations of the Pinal County Visitors Center. At that time, the Pinal County Immigration Commission began to oversee the Pinal County Visitor Center and the Development Board. Later the Development Board became the Pinal Partnership. Since that time, the Pinal County Immigration Commission has been doing business (dba) as the Pinal County Visitors Center. The Center's main focus is to promote tourism and immigration within the boundaries of Pinal County.
