The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit consists of one supervisor and two full time deputies. The unit is responsible for traffic enforcement, DUI enforcement and requests for problem areas of traffic concern. The unit also serves as instructors for HGN/ SFST, radar certification and collision investigation.
The Critical Accident Response Team is also a part of the Traffic Unit. This team consists of six members from patrol who specialize in collision investigation. The Traffic Unit Call-out Team investigates fatal collisions, serious injury collisions and county liability collisions.
The Traffic Unit is also responsible for tow truck companies that are on the Sheriffs office rotation. It also oversees the daily operations of the Photo Enforcement program currently being utilized in the Apache Junction and Queen Creek areas.
