The Criminal Investigations Bureau is responsible for the advanced investigation of certain felony crimes, death investigations, homicides, robbery, sex crimes, crimes against vulnerable adults and children and other crimes against persons. The Bureau also investigates serious property crimes, has dedicated domestic violence detectives and operates a Sex Offender Section. The C.I.B. provides narcotics investigation by maintaining and managing the operation of a multi-agency HIDTA Initiative Task Force. The Bureau conducts computer forensics, serves warrants and provides crime scene processing with a Crime Scene/ID Unit. The C.I.B. also has members assigned to the GIITEM Unit and the State Auto Theft Task Force
The C.I.B. is committed to providing an advanced level of expertise to the investigation, resolution and prosecution of crimes against persons and property. .
The Criminal Investigations Division is staffed with one captain, four sergeants, two corporals, 23 detectives, three crime scene investigators / ID techs and three civilian secretaries.
