The mission of Pinal County Narcotics Task Force is the investigation, prosecution, disruption and dismantling of individuals and/or groups involved in possession, sales, manufacturing, cultivating, trafficking and smuggling of illegal drugs in or through Pinal County and surrounding areas, to include statewide and international investigations. On average, PCNTF investigates approximately 200 of these case types annually.
The PCNTF is a multi-agency task force comprised of a sergeant, a corporal, six investigators and an administrative secretary. All operate out of the Criminal Investigations Bureau of the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. The Task Force also has members of Arizona DPS District 6 Narcotics Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration assigned under the PCNTF High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Initiative, who operate independently from the AZDPS District 6 Office in Casa Grande. The Task Force is a HIDTA Initiative/Task Force, which falls under the Southwest HIDTA Group. PCNTF is funded by HIDTA, ACJC/Byrne Grant, COPS Methamphetamine Grant, Marijuana Eradication Grant and the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.
