News: Speed Enforcement Details in Pinal County

In an effort to increase public awareness and keep our children safe during the school year, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is targeting school zones and surrounding areas with saturated patrols. The increased patrols will begin on August 8th, which is the first day of classes for Pinal County schools. The intensive enforcement will continue throughout the school year. Our focus during the school year is two-fold; the safety of the school children in our communities and education of the motoring public. Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies, will have a "zero tolerance" policy during this enforcement period.

Additionally, for the past few months, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has been working speed enforcement in other areas of the county. As a result of enforcement we have seen dramatic reductions in accidents, some as high as fifty percent.

Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “Pinal County has seen many serious and fatal collisions during the past years. All law enforcement agencies across Pinal County have stepped up speed and DUI enforcement to keep our citizens safe. If stopped, you will be required to show your driver’s license to the law enforcement officer and you will be cited. Please slow down and drive safely.”
