Dear Sheriff Babeu,

On the evening of December 6, 2008, a Central Arizona College student made a report alleging a sexual assault offense to the campus police department. My department has limited capabilities to investigate an offense of this type and, as we have in the past, I requested investigative support from your depatment. Detective Robert Westerfield's response that night was prompt, and he assumed control of the investigation with professionalism and competence.

The investigation was later led by Detective Brian Hillman, who also was very professional in completing said investigation. Detective Hillman kept me informed throughout the investigation and its conclusion. Both detectives are to be commended for their excellent work and professionalism, they are a credit to your organization. Please pass along my thanks and appreciation to these detectives for a job well done.
