Chief Deputy Jeffrey Kirkham provides oversight and direction concerning the non-detention related operations of the Sheriff’s Office. The Chief Deputy directly monitors and supervises the Professional Standards Unit, the Finance Unit, Communications, and the Volunteer Bureau. At the direction of the Sheriff, Chief Kirkham attends and represents the Sheriff’s Office at various functions, events and interagency meetings.

Chief Kirkham heads up a number of committees and activities that are strategic to the mission of the Sheriff’s Office. Chief Kirkham is responsible for the successful implementation of the Countywide Managing For Results Initiative. Chief Kirkham also directs a wide variety of special projects and assignments, including policy revision, Continuity of Operations Planning and preparing the annual Sheriff’s Office budget. In the absence of the Sheriff, Chief Deputy Kirkham performs the duties of that office.
