A.J. Blaha was appointed Pinal County’s Deputy Public Works Director in June 2006 and named Public Works Director in February 2012. A.J. served with the U.S. Army for four years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He worked in construction and surveying for many years before returning to college in Arizona in 1983. He graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology in 1987, and worked for the City of Flagstaff from August 1987 until August 1994 as a project engineer, project manager, the Stormwater Management Engineer and the Private Development Engineer. A.J. subsequently worked for the City of Casa Grande from September 1994 until June 2006 as the City Engineer, Airport Manager, Deputy Public Works Director and Public Works Director. A.J. is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Arizona and is a Certified Floodplain Manager. He has one daughter and four grandchildren.
