TRAFFIC ALERT
State Route 79: North of Florence AZ (CAP south to Railroad Tracks)

October 29, 2009 - Arizona Department of Transportation, Tucson District, has issued a traffic alert for State Route 79, north of Florence, from the CAP south to the Railroad Tracks. Permit work for the federal facility is underway and scheduled to only utilize shoulder closures (and the closure of existing right turn lanes).  There will be a speed reduction due to the close proximity of the widening work and to allow for southbound vehicles to turn right from the through lane (35 mph).

Motorists are advised to please be alert to the speed limit and posted signs while driving through this construction zone and be aware of the second construction zone at the Gila River Bridge. ADOT will coordinate traffic control for both projects. While ADOT strives to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions during any complex construction project, there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. ADOT appreciates your patience as they construct these improvements.
