5/15/2014

FLORENCE – The Draft 2014 Five-Year Transportation Improvement and Maintenance Program for Budget Years 2013-2014 through 2017-2018 is available for public review and comment by visiting the county’s website at www.pinalcountyaz.gov (http://www.pinalcountyaz.gov/Departments/PublicWorks/Pages/Draft2014FiveYearTransportationPlan.aspx).

Updated annually, the transportation program identifies funding and establishes a schedule for countywide planning, construction, and maintenance projects.  The public comment period ends Friday, June 13th.   After the public comment period, the program will be submitted to the Board of Supervisors for final approval in June.

By unanimous vote, the Transportation Advisory Committee approved the draft program in February.  The committee, appointed by the Board of Supervisors, is a 10-member panel who meet annually to review, update, and recommend the program of transportation projects.  The committee’s recommendation is a culmination of a six month planning cycle that included three public meetings.  Transportation Advisory Committee meetings for the upcoming planning cycle are scheduled as follows:

·         Tuesday, September 23, 2014

·         Tuesday, November 18, 2014

·         Tuesday, February 24, 2015

The meetings begin at 2:30 p.m. and are held in the Ironwood Room of the 1891 Historic Courthouse (Pinal County Administrative Complex), 135 Pinal Street in Florence.
