The Pinal County Division of Public Health promotes the health of Pinal County residents through education, prevention, and limitation of disease and food-borne illness. The provision of basic public health services increases life expectancy and productivity; reduces the occurrence of disease, disability, and early death; eliminates disease that are preventable by vaccines (such as measles, mumps, and rubella); reduces the occurrence of traumatic injuries (such as head injuries); improves conditions which may result in illness to infants and children. Money spent in the prevention and limitation of disease reduces what otherwise would be spent for the treatment of disease and the maintenance of the disabled.
