“The citizens of Maricopa have spoken and we listened. The Maricopa Public Library has extended hours of operation to include Mondays and we are opening at 9 on four other days. We’re now open six days per week,” said Kevin Drinka, Maricopa’s Interim Library Director.
“A library is a true gathering place for a community and this new facility offers a variety of amenities from video rentals to story time for children,” Drinka said. “Adults and teens can search for jobs or research school assignments. Seniors will find a wide array of interesting books and comfy chairs to relax and enjoy a good book.”
“What people may not know is that all Pinal County libraries have free Wi-Fi, too. It’s a convenient way for people who want to access the internet while using their own laptop computers,” Drinka said.
Denise Keller, Director of the Pinal County Library District says that when the economy sours, library utilization peaks.
“We’ve seen utilization increases at virtually all of our libraries. Someone who might have purchased the latest best seller is often choosing to stop by the library to borrow it when money is tight. Our libraries also offer audio books and movies,” Keller said. “The public library is an excellent way to stay entertained while conserving your family budget.”
The Maricopa Public Library is an affiliate library of the Pinal County Library District. The library provides full library services, has programs for all ages and is equipped with 20 public access computers. The library’s website is http://www.maricopa-az.gov/community_services/library.php.
