Construction Alert: Ironwood Drive in San Tan Valley

9/10/2009

FLORENCE, AZ – Salt River Project (SRP) will be installing temporary guard structures on Ironwood Drive, south of Guadalupe Road on Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The placement of this equipment is necessary to protect motorists while SRP constructs an overhead power line. There may also be temporary traffic stops while the power line work takes place.

The inside lanes of Ironwood northbound and southbound will be closed to place guard structures in the median. After this is accomplished, the two inside lanes will be opened and the outside north and southbound lanes will be closed so that guard structures can be placed on the shoulders.

Message boards will be installed to warn the public of this delay on Saturday. Installation of the guard structures should be completed on Saturday. These guard structures are being placed for the safety of the traveling public. Upon completion of the power line work, the guard structures will be removed. The current schedule calls for completion before the end of September.

Please use caution in the construction zone. We appreciate your patience during this phase of construction.
