Daniel Washburn received his baccalaureate degree in political science from Arizona State University. He received his law degree from Washburn University School of Law and obtained a master of laws (LL.M.) in taxation from the University of Missouri School of Law. He was admitted to the practice of law in Arizona in 2001 and has been serving as a superior court judge since January, 2011.

In 2001, Judge Washburn was admitted to the practice of law in Arizona and began working for a law firm in Mesa. In 2005 he established the Washburn Law Firm PLC, which focused on civil matters. In addition to his law practice, Judge Washburn was an instructor of continuing legal education courses for other lawyers and a teacher at Mesa Community College, where he taught community education courses on trust law and landlord/tenant law. He is also the author of several published articles on legal topics ranging from business and tax law to constitutional law. In 2008 and 2009 Judge Washburn was appointed to serve as a judge pro tem in the Maricopa County Justice Courts. In 2010 he was elected by the voters of Pinal County as a Superior Court Judge.

Judge Washburn is a former member of the board of directors of Superstition Area Land Trust and East Valley Adult Resources, a non-profit organization that provides a variety of services for seniors in Pinal and Maricopa counties. He has also served in a variety of leadership roles within the Boy Scouts of America organization.

Judge Washburn is married to his sweetheart Michelle, and they have four wonderful children.
