 Reasons to establish a fraud hotline:

  • Provides a convenient, anonymous method to report fraud and other unethical activities
  • Promotes awareness and serves as a deterrent
  • Demonstrates the County's commitment to a higher degree of accountability to the Public
  • Allows for prompt delivery of information, perhaps limiting potential losses

 Examples of what should be reported:

Fraud includes known or suspected:

  • Theft, misuse, or waste of County funds, property, information or other assets
  • Forgery or alteration of documents or records
  • Conflicts of interest, kickbacks, or favors to vendors and contractors
  • Misuse or abuse of office, position or authority

 Benefits of a Fraud Hotline:

  • Reporters may remain anonymous
  • Trained interviewers are available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (with the exception of Holidays)
