Behavioral Health Office
Behavioral Health authorizes payment for Court Ordered Evaluations and locates a placement for the person to go to receive the evaluation and begin treatment. They also work closely with the Courts in the Rule 11 process and have aided Correctional Health in obtaining services for those inmates that are mentally ill.
Medical Examiner's Office
Medical Examiner's office arranges for transportation for people who have died in accidents, at home or in criminal actions. They work with a Forensic Pathologist to determine the cause of death. They are also in charge of the Indigent Burial Program.
Public Fiduciary's Office
The Public Fiduciary's Office investigates cases where there are allegations of abuse, neglect or financial exploitation due to a person's incapacity. If it is determined that the allegations are true, the Public Fiduciary will determine what actions need to occur to protect the person or his/her estate. These actions include petitioning the Superior Court for the office to become the guardian and/or conservator for the person. This allows the office to make decisions for the person regarding health care and placement.
The office also acts as the Personal Representative in probate cases where no one is able to serve.
