The Division constitutes a regulatory agency, generally charged with protecting the public's interest in assuring that the air remains safe to breathe. Most air quality standards originate from federal and State laws and regulations. Since those standards continue to evolve, the District maintains an on-going planning and rule development effort. |

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors ("Board") acted in 1967 to provide for the local protection and regulation of air quality by forming the Pinal County Air Quality Control District(PCAQCD). PCAQCD bears primary responsibility for the administration of the County's air quality program. PCAQCD constitutes an operating Division of the Pinal County Department of Development Services. |
